BJ34 DESCRIBE AND APPLY EFFECTIVE TECHNIQUES OF TEAMWORK
A. Description of the Evaluation
The development of teamwork within the work environment is critical for the success of a business operation. Teamwork is defined as the ‘pooling’ of the individual talents and resources within a company that allow the accomplishment of a greater goal. The candidate needs to demonstrate the knowledge and behaviours that foster a ‘teamwork approach’ within the North America work environment. To be awarded this competency, the candidate must also show an understanding of appropriate behaviour characteristics that foster a team approach. The candidate’s knowledge regarding team building and conflict resolution skills will also be validated. Lastly, the candidate must show and recognize leadership qualities and appreciate the importance of ‘sound leadership’ within the work environment.
Please note that this competency contains three elements to be evaluated. The candidate must pass each element with a grade of greater than or equal to 60%.
The format of the evaluation will consist of written questions, role playing and scenarios in which the candidate must demonstrate an understanding of effective teamwork behaviour.
